There can only be one alpha.
Bryn is finally settling into her position as alpha of the Cedar Ridge Pack—or at least, her own version of what it means to be alpha when you’re a human leading a band of werewolves. Then she finds a teenage boy bleeding on her front porch. Before collapsing, he tells her his name is Lucas, he’s a Were, and Bryn’s protection is his only hope.
But Lucas isn’t part of Bryn’s pack, and she has no right to claim another alpha’s Were. With threats—old and new—looming, and danger closing in from all sides, Bryn will have to accept what her guardian Callum knew all along. To be alpha, she will have to give in to her own animal instincts and become less human. And, she’s going to have to do it alone.
Bryn faces both the costs, and the rewards, of love and loyalty, in this thrilling sequel to Raised by Wolves.

Trail By Fire was an amazing read. I actually read it a couple years ago and I had to reread it, and Raised by Wolves is one of my favorite werewolf books. Bryn is a strong female character and I just love her. I also love how this book seems so real, like if werewolves were real it would be like this.
Trail by Fire has a different twist from the first book, with new threat that no one sees coming. Like there are so many twists in this book that you won’t really see the big one till BAM it hits you in the face. TBF aslo shows us how hard it is to be a female, human alpha of a pack, Bryn is always has to think every move carefully or trouble might come down on her and her pack, that’s a lot of responsibility.
I highly recommend this book to who ever wants an werewolf action packed real life book.
P.S. I actually read this book before the first one, because I didn’t know it was the second book. And I was only a little confused, when I finally got my hands on the first book I was like I know everything that’s going to happen 🙂
